so i posted earlier that i was going to go to dollar tree, rite aid, and walgreens. i wanted to share the purchases i made with you.

first i went to the dollar tree and i did see a few e.l.f. cosmetics items but they were all things i've ordered and am waiting to get. i did buy some makeup remover facial wipes...i'll see how i like them for $1.

i went to kmart but didn't see any good buys so i went on to walgreens...i found covergirl professional all-in-one mascara on sale for $2.99...so i picked that up. i also picked up wet'n wild eye liner for $0.99 each, i got one in mink brown and dark brown. i also got a couple of eye shadows from revlon (they're on sale...buy one, get one 50% off!) so i got a quad in the shade of wildflower (it's a light sage, peach, lilac, and brown) and a single in violet starlet(dark and light purple with shimmer to it)...i then went across the street to rite aid and found this product line, jesse's girl...i purchased 3 eyeliners for $1.99/each...one in treasure hunt, one in navy sea, and one in blue steel. i'm going to record a video later to show all the different colors on youtube. stay tuned for the link.

recovery day.

so today i think i'm going to head to the local dollar tree and see if i can find some nifty containers to organize my cosmetics...i'm sure my bf would appreciate it. i might also run to walgreens or rite aid to hit some of the sales of the week...if you didn't see them check out my previous blog.

i hope everyone had a great memorial day...we had some friends over for a cookout. it was a great time but by the time the night was over i was soooooooo tired.

so i found this in my makeup bag and i vaguely remember purchasing it...so the color may not still be available. but i have to say that i love how quickly it set up...i've used other fast dry nail polishes and somehow i still always smudge them...this one set up before i could even think about smudging it! its a pretty coral color as you can see on my thumb nail...just thought i'd share with you!!

hey everyone...sorry its been so long since i posted but i've been pretty busy. so i wanted to update you on a couple of things going on with me and then i'm going to share about some of the new products that i'm using and some that i'm excited to try.

first, i just want to let everyone know that things with me are great. work has been pretty busy lately which makes the shift fly by...which is awesome, nothing better than looking to see what time it is and its almost time to go home! i finally got all of my plants into the ground or into pots on the back deck. my garden this year contains miniature roses, dahlias, hibiscus, hydrangeas, orchid cactus, carnations, pansies, violas, lilies, and one lonely grape tomato plant, haha. once everything is in bloom i will take pictures and post them! my dog and my boyfriend are doing great as well.

alright now onto the good stuff!! i'm going to start off with products that i'm excited to try. while trolling youtube the other night @ 3am i came across a youtube channel/vlog called budgetbeautiful and i started watching. well i kept hearing her talk about e.l.f. products, so naturally i googled the line...and i can not wait to get my order! a majority of their line is $1, yes you read that right, $1!!! they have some other products that are more than that but the prices still are really good. i love makeup but i hate spending the $$ on the products. so i'm excited to try these products because from the research i've done everyone seems to be raving about the products...i mean can you really complain too much when you spend a whole dollar on it vs. $5-$10?!? so check it out!! i hope you enjoy the site as much as i did!

ok now onto the products that i've recently been using and love...

• i have pretty fine/thin hair so i love anything that gives me volume/body...and this product does it for me...samy salon's fat hair...i initially purchased this through HSN but later found that Walgreen's carried the line of products (which saves S&H charges) and if you watch your fliers you can catch it buy one, get one 1/2 off or buy one, get one free! i use the shampoo and the conditioner together and it gives me great results.
• i developed sensitive teeth a few years ago and have tried a couple of different brands of toothpaste for sensitive teeth...usually i couldn't stand the consistency of the product...well the other day i caught a commercial for sensodyne: isoactive gel toothpaste...i've been using the product for about a week now and i have noticed a massive improvement in my teeth sensitivity. i also like how it foams up in my mouth...it makes my mouth feel extra clean & fresh.
• luster teeth whitening system: i was skeptical because i've had deep stains on my teeth for a while and was told by a dentist that the only fix was to get veneers...i did look into them but i couldn't afford the procedure...my boyfriend bought this product for me because he knows how self-conscious i am about my teeth...i didn't do the full hour that is recommended but i did 3 cycles of the product and i can see an improvement in the deep stains...the product wasn't that hard to use and can be done multiple times up to an hour...i'll continue to do a couple of rounds at a time instead of a straight hour of using the product.

small hiatus.

hello again. unfortunately i got busy for a bit and i fell off the blogging wagon...but i'm back! i really need to find a main focus for my blog, something other than my every day life...something to blog about that interests people other than my family &/or friends. i want to be able to make new friends via blogging. to be able to get opinions of strangers on things in my life. its always nice to have an outside look.

work has been crazy busy lately. the new computer system is finally starting to work with me instead of against me, i'm finding that it is faster...i just have to find shortcuts.

i celebrated my 26th birthday on my hiatus...it was a wonderful day spent with my boyfriend! i ♥ him so much. the weather was sunny, warm, and beautiful...especially for april 1st. i'll attach a photo of the flowers he hand selected for my birthday bouquet...it was beautiful. we had a great dinner at BD's Mongolian BBQ, one of my favorite restaurants & it was my boyfriend's first visit & thankfully he loved it! then we just browsed through the shops in coventry.

i took a nap today after band practice, which was supposed to be short, and now i can't sleep...unfortunately i'm wide awake and its 2:06 am.

my thoughts are all over the place so i'm going to stop blogging for tonight and blog again tomorrow when i can structure my blog and gather my thoughts.

not a manic monday

so i worked until 1130 tonight...not a bad night for a monday. we were staffed appropriately and the patients weren't too bad. i'm really tired so i'm not going to write much. just wanted to make a blog entry.

i wish it had been a lazy sunday

last night at work was horrible. we were short a nurse for half of my shift and this new computer charting is taking me forever! i'm very good with computers and computer programs but it just seems like this system is going to take a while to get used to. it takes me a long time to just chart on one patient and when i have six patients to chart on thats over an hour just to chart the initial assessment alone! i don't have that much free time to just sit around and do nothing but chart. okay now that i've ranted about work lets move on to something more productive.

palm sunday...that was always a big day at church for me when i was growing up. my mother was always very active with the youth and i can remember her leading us around the church carrying palm branches and singing. it made me miss being so far away from home because she of course did that again this morning with the children of the church. they had an easter egg hunt last night and i would have loved being there. i don't get to see my nephews and niece often enough around holidays due to being a nurse and living 200 miles from home. i am looking forward to easter next sunday though...perhaps i'll put a basket together for my dog and boyfriend.

today started at 9:30...i had to get up so i could get ready for band practice. we got out of band practice around 2:15 and headed for columbus to meet my sister. i was sad to see her go but relieved all at the same time. i love having my family around but its been a very busy week with her being in town...its nice to go back to things being slower for a little while. but i enjoyed every second of her being here. now that the weather is nice and the kids are almost out of school my family will visit more. i'm glad for that...i love being around them.

i'm almost ready for bed after loads of driving today. i'll post again tomorrow.

early morning.

so i'm laying here trying to figure out why i'm awake so early on a saturday. i didn't fall asleep until late last night and i definitely shouldn't be awake right now. however, since i'm up i might as well blog.

work last night was miserable. we were understaffed by one nurse which always makes for a fun evening. typically when we're short its not always horrible, tonight went against that statement. call lights were constantly going off making it difficult to accomplish anything in a timely manner. i had seven patients...thankfully one of them was discharged home to my liking. so the first hour of my evening was spent discharging this patient home and answering all of his family's questions. right after my discharge left my admission had arrived, great timing right? thankfully i only had six patients the rest of the evening. normally i have no problem with six or seven patients but last night was even more difficult because i had to learn to use the new computer system...sure i had a class on it a month ago...but i thankfully was able to navigate my way through most of it...the admission and discharge were both fun to try and navigate through. so after a busy evening i was charting when i was supposed to be leaving...thankfully i'm a quick typer and i only had to stay over fifteen to twenty minutes.

this is normally my saturday off but someone needed to switch and i agreed...although now i wish i hadn't...not much i can do about it now. my boyfriend and niece are going to a friend's house this evening, i think they'll have fun...i just wish i was joining them.

i'm going to go eat breakfast...

i can't believe it's friday!

so it's friday...the week has gone by so fast. my niece will be headed home in a couple of days and it will just be my boyfriend and i again. its nice to have someone else here for the time being...she adds a bit of excitement because we are trying to entertain her. i believe my bf is taking her to the rock & roll hall of fame tonight, she loves music so she should really enjoy that...i hope so anyways. i unfortunately must work, i haven't been since sunday so i had a nice, long break. i have to start using the new computer system this evening, i'm hoping that it goes smoothly...thankfully if i have any problems i can ask some of the help people that are there to make sure we transition easily. i personally have been looking forward to moving to computer charting because i can type so much faster than i can write, spell check never hurts either!

i'm going to go spend some time with my niece before heading to work. more tomorrow.

snow flurries.

so this is my first blog. i fully intend to write everyday...but I'll just be honest from the beginning and say that its probably not going to work out that way. I enjoy blogging...its a way to get everything out of my head without being judged...or without really caring about what people think.

My niece is in town visiting for Spring Break. She came up Tuesday after my aunt's funeral. I was really saddened by her death this past Friday (March 19, 2010). She'd been sick for so long...I was sad to see her go but I know now that she is without pain or suffering. My prayers are still with her husband, children, and family.

My niece being in town is wonderful. She's always fun to be around. Yesterday we went and had her hair highlighted...it looks really good. I'm glad she likes it. Today we hit up the mall...that girl loves to shop! I've thankfully taught her how to be a bargain shopper. We couldn't afford anything if she shopped the way she does without being a bargain shopper. I introduced her to Plato's Closet...that place is amazing for buying clothes...especially when you're still growing....

We had pizza for dinner from Donato's...I think they have my favorite pizza....Now I'm just sitting here watching tv. I have to work tomorrow but I'll try my best to blog, it would look really bad if I couldn't get a blog in on the second day of having one!
